What's the concept behind the Nomination Composable bracelet?

The concept behind the Nomination Composable bracelet was to design a fashion accessory that expressed the style and personality of the wearer, a modern day charm bracelet. 

Who created Nomination?

Nomination was created by Paolo Gensini in the small town of Sesto Fiorentino, near Florence, Italy in 1987.

How does the Nomination bracelet work?

Gensini was intrigued by traditional charm bracelets and the ways in which they told a story. He divised a modular or 'composable' bracelet which comprised of a series of links which could be connected. These links are connected by a spring loaded mechanism allowing them to be easily added on or taken off. 

Where does the name Nomination come from?

Gensini called his new creation Nomination, from the Latin term meaning 'giving someone an appropriate name.'

What are Nomination links made from?

Nomination links are made from high quality stainless steel and 18ct gold. Some of the designs are hand-painted enamel while others are inlaid with cubic zirconia, precious and semi-precious stones.

Are there different sizes of Nomination bracelets? 

Yes! There are four different Nomination bracelet sizes; Tiny, Smarty, Classic and Big.

Which Nomination bracelet size is the most popular?

Nomination's Classic bracelet is the most popular and has the biggest selection of links to choose from, although more and more we are finding our customers are buying the other sizes. Men tend to chose Big. Nomination bracelets look great stacked together so many of our customers are wearing a mix of the different sizes.

So how do I get started with my Nomination bracelet?

Firstly you need to buy a Nomination 'Starter' bracelet. We offer a 17 link Classic size starter bracelet to our customers for just £5. We don't run similar offers on the other 3 sizes, the Tiny, Smarty or Big but the starter bracelets aren't expensive for any of the other sizes.

How many links do I need on my Nomination bracelet for it to fit my wrist.

As a general rule a Nomination Classic size bracelet needs 18 links to fit an average adult female wrist and 20 links to fit an average mans wrist therefore when you buy your Classic starter bracelet and just one charm your bracelet should fit. If you have a very slim wrist it's just a question of taking a few of the plain links out. If you require more than 18 links then they can be bought individually for just 42 pence each (for the Classic size.)

What happens to the spare Nomination links that are taken off when I buy a new charm?

You keep them! Everytime you buy a new Nomination charm a plain link is taken off and is given back to you. Keep these links and attach them together to start another bracelet for yourself or 'nominate' someone else to have it and start them on their Nomination journey!  

How can I tell if it is genuine Nomination?

A genuine Nomination link has 'Nomination' engraved on the front of the link. On the underside of the link the following is written 'Stainless Steel, Nominaton'. The registered trademark is also engraved which is a letter 'R' in a circle. This same information also appears on the underside of the charms. Your purchase should also be accompanied by Nomination literature and/or packaging. Please note, Mica ONLY sell genuine Nomination links and charms. 

Do you stock the entire Nomination Composable collection? 

No I'm afraid we don't because there are thousands of Nomination charms, some of which are very specific. We keep several hundred charms in stock but if none of our stock charms are what you are looking for we can do a 'Special Order' to Italy for you at no extra cost. You need to allow between 10 - 14 days however for your charm to arrive.  

How to clean my Nomination bracelet?

We find the most effective way to clean our bracelets is to use a small brush (like a toothbrush) & warm soapy water.

I want to buy a Nomination bracelet for a young child. Will it fit?

No problem. That's the beauty of Nomination Composable bracelets they can be made as small or as big as you need them to be.
